Worst hospital in Riyadh
Worst hospital in Riyadh
There are so many hospitals in Riyadh, some are really good and some are not according to our standards. Well, I tried many times to write it but evertime I felt so much pain.

It is very painful to write your bad experience but today I will share my worst experience of a hospital in Riyadh. I am writing it as worst hospital in Riyadh but may be many people don't agree with my opinion. (well everyone has the right to express their views and opinions)
As you shifted to a new place you find new shops and hospitals in your near by area, so same was the case for us. We found new shops, new neighbors and definitely new hospital.
Let me introduce myself fist, I am mother of three kids Alhmdulilah and unfortunately I had dnc(dilation and curettage) last year due to blighted ovum. Well,we shifted to Malaz and as I conceived after 1.5 year I visited "Obaid fertility center" Riyadh for regular visits. It was our wrong decision as we heard so much about it. Some random talks like
"not a good hospital"
"medicines are not available"
"insurance issues"
"doctors are not capable"
"staff is not good and cooperative "
"expensive than others"
But we consider it just rumors and didnot pay any attention. My husband insisted to go there as our insurance was not covering too much and it was the nearest hospital. (he thought it will be easy for him to take me to the hospital at the time of labor, but that time didn't come)
On my first visit to doctor Erum I told her that I have history of dnc so I was really conscious at that time. She prescribed me folic acid and aspiren. The aspiren she wrote was not available at the pharmacy and it was not available anywhere as we went to many pharmacies. It was 81mg asprine as it was not available I didn't take any medication except folic acid. On next visit I told her this aspiren is not available still she wrote again and again it was unavailable at obaid pharmacy and other pharmacies too. Well,I went there for ultrasound and at 6 weeks I hear clear sound of baby heartbeat it was 140bpm I was so excited Alhmdulilah it was fine. Still I was scared as I had no symptoms of nausea and vomiting. After few days I felt some kind of weird small from virginal discharge. I had pain too. I went to the Doctor Erum and she checked me from the doppler, no sound came in doppler and she said it will be fine don't worry. I had a history of abnormal pregnancy so I was worried and insisted to do ultrasound but she refused as she didn't have ultrasound machine at room and secondly insurance will not cover. My urine test was clear so she take a swap from discharge and send it for culture. I takes straight 4 days for result and candida virus was detected in the report. She gave me gyno mikozal(miconazzole nitrate 400mg viginal ovules) to put in vigina for 6 days. I had pain in lower abdomen but it was not too much. I was apparently very fine as after hospital we went to park and a close relative. At late night I put that gyno mikozal in vagina it was like suppository and I slept.
Next day in the morning I found wax like texture after using washroom. I wondered what is this.
I have pain in lower abdomen and suddenly at 8 pm sharp I felt that something is coming outside as I checked it was dark red blood. (so It was a miscarriage again and I felt devastated) I rushed to hospital I told my condition to Doctor Erum Mushtaq she was very normal,(I thought she will ask me whether it is the reaction of that tablet as I visited last night but at that time I really felt the attitude transformation) she sent me for ultrasound that come with report. I went for ultrasound, at that room the two ladies asked for history, checked previous heartbeat and gave me report without uttering a single word. (the doc stayed at her room she never came for ultrasound)
Well, I gave ultrasound report and what she said was heartbreaking but the purpose of this blog is to write what she did with her patient (at this time when the patient is heartbroken, devastated, sad and gloomy the doctors words can be healing or more hurting)
She said
"Heartbeat of baby is finished and you need to go for dnc so when I ll do your dnc"
I couldn't stand on my own feet, I call my husband to come and handle this situation. She was putting her hand on the mouse staring the screen and asking us to send approval for dnc. According to her this is the real solution to abort the dead baby.
At that time, to be very honest I felt she know everything and she was waiting for my unborn child to decease.
I refused to go for dnc and decided that I will go for natural miscarriage. My husband had a conversation with her like
Husband "can we go for second option. Like to ask from somewhere else"
Dr"yes you can take second opinion"
Me "what if we go for natural miscarriage do you have any medication for this purpose"
Dr"we have medication bit this is too much time consuming, why to wait for natural miscarriage its better to go for dnc, I ll send approval today and you can come tomorrow. It takes only few hours"
Me "I don't opt for it again as it is very painful and I will wait for natural miscarriage"
Dr "then go and wait but if you come at hospital in any kind of emergency it is not my responsibility to treat you, you can go anywhere"
(This attitude was rude enough, I wasn't expecting it as I was going there since first checkup and she treated me like I have came there the first time but in reality I went there the last time)
She insisted again and again for dilation and curettage but I refused and went to Safa Makkah hospital.
The doctor was good she heard patiently, she did ultrasound in front of me told the clear situation that heartbeat has stopped. Blood is gathering in uterus and soon you will abort. You can come here as the bleeding will be beyond your control. Well I went to home, from 10pm to 6am I bleed heavily. I had bleeding, pain, discomfort and clots were coming too.
The whole day I was unable to do any chores just stayed in bed. After that my husband again went to obaid hospital if they do any medication or further treatment but the doctor refused and insisted on dnc. Now at that time she refused that the hospital does not have any kind of medicine to treat miscarriage or to excrete any remaining clots.
We went to Safa Makkah she refered me to Alfalah hospital.
Thus hospital is so much crowded and you have to wait for so long time but yes the doctor Samreen is very good and she heard all my situation.
She assured me that the medication will expel all clots which remain inside no need for dnc and called me after one week.
I used that medicine, Doctor Samreen told me if the clot still remain she will gave me medication again so that no need for dnc.
After one week ultrasound was clear and Alhmdulilah Dr Samreen said remarkable words I really appreciate her words.. As she is surrounded by so many patients she has time to pay attention to each and every patient.
She said "lets go and have party"
I just burst into laughter after so much stressful period. She gave me antibiotics and a drip to stop spotting.
The only purpose of this blog is please don't go to such doctors who are only making money, who are not faithful to their patients. Don't waste your time and money on those who can't understand your pain. Babies are precious, pregnancy is very important and hard time. Don't take wrong decisions so that you have to pay for it.
After my marriage, I guided many women. Don't go for dnc if you can afford natural miscarriage.
Natural miscarriage is like natural delivery and d&c is just like c. Section. Take right decision at right time.
I hope this blog will be helpful for you. Please share your thoughts and comments with me. It takes me six months to pen down my pain. It was not easy to go through this horrible situation but if it is helpful for you my aim of writing it is fulfilled.
